Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.
Additional Developments
In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported missile fragments fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
