The Spanish giants brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold with a long-term deal

Trent Alexander-Arnold's recovery is advancing smoothly, raising a chance that the Madrid right-back may return in time to face his previous team Liverpool in the upcoming Champions League tie.

The 27-year-old international experienced a hamstring problem while playing against Ligue 1 side Marseille in the group stage of the competition on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold exited the field in the fifth minute, with initial estimates suggesting a possible absence of as long as a month and a half.

Real Madrid are set to visit Liverpool on 4 November for the European fixture—just seven weeks since the injury took place.

Reports close to the situation indicate that the defender's healing process is progressing positively, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold may make his initial return to Anfield since moving to Los Blancos in June.

A longtime Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier stated that leaving the team he entered as a young youth talent was the "toughest choice he has ever made."

During his tenure with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold accumulated over 350 games, contributing to claim multiple English top-flight titles, a European Cup, and the domestic cup.

Since moving to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has featured on five occasions across all competitions, accumulating 156 minutes of playing time.
