The Hit Drama Announced for 7th Series on BBC
The acclaimed crime series Line of Duty is officially returning for its seventh season, announced by the BBC.
An upcoming six-episode series written by Jed Mercurio starts production in Belfast this spring, as confirmed by the network.
Vicky McClure expressed excitement about the comeback, stating she was "so excited" about the show's renewal. Adrian Dunbar added, "What a joy it is to know that the Three Amigos will be reuniting together next year."
The previous season concluded in recent years with a finale that attracted over 17 million audience members. Speculation about a new season have been circulating for some time, but confirmation only came this week.
Fresh Obstacles for The Team
Series seven begins with AC-12 no longer existing and renamed as the Inspectorate of Police Standards, as revealed by production details.
Steve Arnott, Kate Fleming, and Adrian Dunbar's part remain tasked to combat corruption within the police force.
Their work "faces unprecedented challenges", and under these circumstances, the trio are assigned their "most delicate case so far."
Fresh Face and Intricate Plot
An additional officer, DI Dominic Gough, portrayed as a charming officer celebrated for takedowns of criminal networks, is accused of misusing his authority to become a sexual predator.
However, his case could be a intentional diversion from a bigger threat still operating in the shadows, the teaser hinted.

The drama premiered in 2012 and evolved into a highly successful TV dramas of the past ten years, attracting notable actors such as Thandiwe Newton.
Broadcasters has not yet announced exactly the upcoming series will hit screens.
The finale of season six brought the extended plot about the search for kingpin known as "the mysterious H" to a close, and producers said at the time there were no intentions for additional seasons.
Nevertheless, the network confirmed on Tuesday that a seventh series is now being produced.
